Chase Elliott Makes Feelings Clear for His Loyal NASCAR Fans Who Never Gave Up on Him

After a rollercoaster season, the 2020 Cup Series champion opens up with raw emotion and gratitude.

A Long Road Back

It hasn’t been the easiest stretch for Chase Elliott. The 2023 and 2024 seasons saw the Hendrick Motorsports driver battling injuries, inconsistent finishes, and growing pressure from fans and media alike. Once seen as the face of NASCAR’s next generation, Elliott found himself in unfamiliar territory — outside the Playoffs, struggling to find rhythm, and often overshadowed by rising stars and dominant veterans.

But through it all, one thing remained constant: his fans never left.

A Message from the Heart

Following a hard-fought P2 finish at Darlington this past weekend — his best result in over a year — Elliott took a moment during his post-race interview to address those who stuck with him during the lows.

“To the fans who never gave up on me, I want you to know — I never stopped feeling that love,” Elliott said, visibly emotional.
“There were days I didn’t feel like myself in the car. Days where I questioned a lot of things. But every time I walked through the garage, or saw the 9 flags flying in the infield, or read those messages on social… I felt you. And that kept me going.”

The Power of the 9 Nation

The #9 fanbase, known for its loyalty and passion, has stood by Chase through thick and thin — from his rookie years, to the 2020 Cup Series title, and the more difficult seasons that followed. Despite missing races due to injury and narrowly missing the playoffs in 2023, his merchandise remained among the sport’s top sellers. His name still echoed in every driver intros.

Now, as Elliott begins to show flashes of his old dominance, the energy surrounding his comeback is palpable.

“He’s more than a driver — he’s a symbol for a lot of fans who’ve followed NASCAR through generational change,” one longtime fan tweeted.
“We didn’t just believe in Chase when he was winning. We believed in him when he was struggling. That’s what makes this moment so powerful.”

Back in Form — and Hungrier Than Ever

With top-5 finishes in three of the last four races, Elliott seems to have found new fire. His communication with crew chief Alan Gustafson is sharper, his aggression on restarts more decisive, and his confidence in post-race interviews noticeably higher.

He may not be back to championship form just yet — but there’s no denying he’s back in the fight.

“We’re not done,” Elliott said. “The goal is still to win races. To bring home another title. But right now, I’m just grateful — grateful to be back in this place mentally and physically. And grateful to the people who never stopped believing.”

Looking Ahead

With the Playoffs looming and momentum shifting, Chase Elliott’s resurgence couldn’t be better timed. The garage knows it. The fans feel it. And Chase himself seems ready to rise once more.

For those who stood by him, the message is clear: Chase sees you. He hears you. And he’s driving for you.

Chase Elliott never gave up. And neither did his fans. Now, they’re writing the next chapter — together.
