DEVASTATING NEWS: Lebron James “Not Again” As Los Angeles Lakers Front Office and HC JJ Redick Confirmed That a Key Star Player Will Undergo ANKLE SURGERY Today Which Will Sideline Him For The Season
LAKERS CONFIRMED THAT A STAR PLAYER WILL UNDERGO ANKLE SURGERY WHICH.
Rui Hachimura of the Los Angeles Lakers will undergo another evaluation in a week following his nasal fracture sustained on Wednesday against the Dallas Mavericks.
The news from the team was communicated by Lakers reporter Mike Trudell.
Hachimura sustained the injury late in the first quarter of the Lakers’ 104-101 loss to the Mavs, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. He continued playing, scoring nine points and pulling down three rebounds in his final 26 minutes.
This is the second time a star player will miss several games due to injury this season. the first player sustained a concussion on October 29 against the Sacramento Kings, which caused him to miss four games in the past.
After being a restricted free agent the previous offseason, Hachimura decided to stay with the Lakers and inked a $31 million, three-year contract. After more than three seasons in D.C., he was traded by the Washington Wizards in January 2023, and he ended up in Los Angeles.
Shortly after an incredible 2023 playoff run in which he averaged 12.2 points on 55.7 percent shooting off the bench, the former Gonzaga star has made his home in Los Angeles. In the end, Hachimura assisted the No. 7-seeded Lakers in making it to the Western Conference Finals.
The 25-year-old has averaged 11.8 points on 50.5 percent shooting (42.9 percent from three) this season, demonstrating his efficiency once again.
Sadly, he won’t be available to the Lakers for very long. The Lakers’ four-game road trip, which starts on Saturday against the Cleveland Cavaliers and concludes on Thursday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, will be incomplete without him.
