Everything In his press conference on Friday after his team’s 38-35 loss to 22nd-ranked Clemson in the 2023 Tax Slayer Gator Bowl at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, head football coach Mark Stoops of the University of Kentucky stated: Stoops’ introductory remarks: a really challenging defeat.

Amazing football match. Throughout that game, there were numerous instances where our football team’s response and retaliation made me extremely proud. We persevered through a great deal of hardship. You weren’t very proud of a lot of things—turnovers, mistakes, penalties, etc. In summary, I am extremely grateful for our team’s methodology, their manner of working, how they conducted themselves in the weeks preceding this, and how they behaved down here.

In terms of coaching, I believe there are many areas where we can improve, and we should do so. We need to have a productive offseason, you know. Negative yardage plays, runs that prevent them from getting going, sacks, balls on the ground, and penalties are all unacceptable. Many things are the responsibility of the staff. This team is amazing. It was a very difficult loss, and I wish we could have ended it with a great win for their sake, but once again, I love this team and appreciate how they handled things. From then on, we’ll continue. Q. After you leave, what do you tell them?

Q. Mark, they drove down the field on their final drive, but your defense only allowed 13 points on four possessions that began inside your own 40 there. Was that exhaustion? Was it becoming too traditional? What was the outcome of that most recent drive? We always doubt ourselves when making certain calls, though. That play will undoubtedly haunt us for some time. By then we were down our two top corners. You know, you make an effort to take certain actions and apply certain defenses that can shield them. One of our nickels was Q. Mark, did Devin overdo it when he committed those turnovers in the fourth quarter? I guess what you saw in those plays?

That’s what it is, then, the last one. As an additional point, the strip sacks mishap was unacceptable. That’s when you have to tuck the ball. There were people surrounding him. You attempt to invent and bring about something, but we must guard the ball during the fumble. That is not possible for you to do. Give them every advantage at that particular moment. I consider almost everything.

Barion hit a great run on that play. He was dangerously close to pulling that one out the previous time. He made a wise choice, in my opinion. The hang time was excellent. He had a great time hanging out on the one he really ran back there. Though we weren’t kicking the ball very well, our kick coverage team struggled. If you hit balls with low kicks and not enough hang time on them against strong teams and returners, and one of them kicked in the opposite direction from what we called, that’s not good. We need to improve our ball-kicking. However, nothing that I believe we really identified exists. We performed admirably on kickoff return for a respectable
