Isaiah McKenzie of the Colts disputes rumors that he killed a bald eagle and is suspended

Due to “conduct detrimental to the team,” the Indianapolis Colts suspended wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie and cornerback Tony Brown for the remainder of the season in mid-December.

Although details surrounding the actions of Brown and McKenzie that were deemed detrimental to the team are still unknown, it appears that this hasn’t stopped rumors from spreading. On Monday, McKenzie took to social media to deny a rumor that he was suspended for killing a bald eagle, saying, “It’s 2024 so let start fresh first things first i did not kill a bald eagle that story is false.” Well, that actually leaves us with more questions than answers, so hopefully the truth is revealed soon. Both Brown and McKenzie are backups and essential special teams players.

Before the team ever played a game, it was already thought that Indianapolis’ chances of making the playoffs were remote. There was little reason to think that the Colts would have a significant impact in 2023, especially with a rookie quarterback (Anthony Richardson) leading the way and a new head coach (Shane Steichen).

Then, just one month into the season, Richardson’s rookie campaign was cut short by a season-ending injury; Gardner Minshew entered the game, and the Colts went on to win games that no one had predicted.
