Over the past few years, supporters of the Miami Heat have been critical of Kyle Lowry on occasion. Nonetheless, he is still adored by Toronto supporters, who consider him to be among the best players in team history. So much so that they are sarcastically attributing the Heat’s poor performance in Wednesday’s loss to the Raptors to him.

Before losing 121-97, the Heat had a 37-point deficit at one point. The Raptors’ inability to field a number of important players, notably Pascal Siakam, who was just moved, made the situation worse. For this, who were the Raptors supporters grateful to? Naturally, Lowry.

Ultimately, Lowry scored just four points on two of six shots. He attempted six 3-pointers, but he missed them all. Although Lowry has had difficulty against his former team, the Raptors fans were clearly making jokes about the fix being in.

When Lowry joined the Heat in the summer of 2021, he faced the Raptors seven times. In four of those games, he scored in the single digits. When the teams played previously in the season, he scored three points.

Despite being a potential Hall of Famer and being adored in Toronto forever, Lowry’s tenure with the Heat has not been smooth. Over the years, he has received a lot of criticism for anything from his weight to his bad performance.

The Heat have several weeks left to determine if Lowry will play in the future. February 8th is the trade deadline. They can choose to find a trade partner, extend an offer of buyout beyond the deadline, or retain Lowry.
