TRAUMA: The Miami coach announced the end of his massive $200 million contract.

This offseason, Oklahoma’s offensive line required a significant makeover. After losing center Andrew Raym and right tackle Tyler Guyton to the draft, left guard Cayden Green to the transfer portal, and left tackle Walter Rouse and right guard McKade Mettauer to graduation, Bill Bedenbaugh did not lose much time. Not everything is lost, though, as Troy Everett will be back to compete at center and offensive tackle Jacob Sexton will be joining OU’s final starting offensive line of the season. Nevertheless, Bedenbaugh required a large number of persons to pass through the door in 2024 in order to safeguard Jackson Arnold.

On December 6, experienced offensive lineman Spencer Brown of Michigan State became the first transfer portal commit for OU’s 2024 transfer class. In his four years in East Lansing, he started twenty-four games. According to Pro Football Focus, he played mostly at right tackle but did switch to left tackle for 82 snaps during the previous campaign. Though he started his Spartan career at right tackle, he had opportunity on both ends of the line.

“During his tenure in East Lansing, Brown did play a few snaps at left tackle, but it was very few,” said Stephen Brooks, the Spartan Tailgate reporter who covers Michigan State. “I’m not sure if that was something that was preferred or just comfortable. This previous season, MSU’s two left tackles were both younger athletes than him.
