The previous offseason, running back Saquon Barkley was signed by the New York Giants with the franchise tag. This came about because quarterback Daniel Jones signed a lucrative contract while the two sides were unable to come to an agreement on a contract extension.

Barkley has always intended to play for the Giants for the duration of his career, but that is all up in the air when he becomes a free agent this offseason.

He discussed his future with the Giants candidly when he appeared as a guest on ESPN’s “First Take” on Monday. He declared that winning a Super Bowl with the G-Men has always been his objective.

Some of the finest players in Giants history, who played for the team their entire careers, were mentioned by Barkley. The 26-year-old running back stated that while it is the objective, he has accepted the prospect of leaving and giving his best to a new team.

Saquon Barkley is open to the possibility of playing for a different team in 2024 because he feels like he has a lot more football left to play in the NFL.

Linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux of the New York Giants recently blasted general manager Joe Schoen and the team for passing on signing Saquon Barkley. On the “7PM in Brooklyn” podcast, the linebacker made an appearance alongside Carmelo Anthony and The Kid. He said that Barkley had a greater offensive impact than quarterback Daniel Jones.

Barkley signed a franchise tag worth $11 million for the 2018 season, while quarterback Daniel Jones signed a four-year deal worth $160 million with the New York Giants.
