It’s prediction time! As the San Francisco 49ers get ready to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII, the Sky Sports NFL staff makes their selections, ranging from MVP to unexpected heroes.Chiefs will prevail 20–17. Since the 2003 and 2004 seasons, I believe the Kansas City Chiefs will be the first team to win two championships in a row. They may not have the greatest team, but they do have the finest player in the NFL in Patrick Mahomes. NEIL Reynolds
Chiefs will prevail 27–24. It’s going to be a fantastic game any way, but I think the first half will be so defensively based with field goals getting them there. PHOEBE SCHECTER
Chiefs will prevail 24-23. This is one of the closest games I can recall in recent memory; it’s so close that even the bookmakers are struggling. I find it incomprehensible to oppose Patrick Mahomes. I can’t support him when he plays the most crucial position in the game, despite the fact that they don’t have a strong receiving core this year and that Travis Kelce is essentially his only target when he throws the ball. I think this game will come down to the last possession, one way or the other. JEFF
Chiefs will triumph 31–27. In Super Bowl LVIII, everything comes down to the wire. In a wild first quarter marked by scores on both teams’ opening drives, Patrick Mahomes outduels Brock Purdy in the fourth quarter to give the Chiefs a two-game winning streak in the Super Bowl. CAM HOGWOOD
Mahomes Patrick. In the 58 MVPs awarded in NFL history to date, quarterbacks have won 32 of them. In my opinion, Patrick Mahomes will win MVP for the third time in his career if the Chiefs prevail. NEIL Reynolds
Mahomes Patrick. In my opinion, Mahomes is the quarterback of choice in the event that the Chiefs win the Super Bowl. However, if the 49ers were the team, I believe that CMC would win and there would be an exception to the norm that a quarterback wins. PHOEBE SCHECTER
