The Miami Heat’s season has been marred by injuries thus far. In 22 games, they have used 14 different starting lineups. Jimmy Butler referred to the team’s start as “mediocre.”

Erik Spoelstra, the head coach of the Heat, says he has no idea when Bam Adebayo will return before the team plays the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night.

The Heat are now 12-10, dropping to ninth in the Eastern Conference, which is not the news that anyone wanted to hear. Fortunately, there is still plenty of time for them to recover their health.

The Heat wish to steer clear of repeating as a play-in team and overworking Butler during the regular season. The Heat are in a difficult situation because of the injuries to Tyler Herro and Adebayo.

Before the injury, Adebayo was playing well on both ends of the court. Anchoring the Heat defence, he was scoring 22.2 points and pulling down ten rebounds on average.

Adebayo has previously dealt with hip injuries. He experienced a similar problem in March of last year. On October 28, after taking a hard fall during the Minnesota game, he sustained this hip injury.

Adebayo participated in today’s shootaround in Charlotte with the team. It makes sense that the Heat would be cautious given the injury.

The Heat’s goals extend beyond securing a few postseason victories. Their bench has had a big impact, and they appear to be a squad ready for another deep playoff run.

The Heat will need to keep coming up with strategies to survive in the interim.
