tight end for the Baltimore Ravens The team declared on Saturday that Mark Andrews is on injured reserve.

At least four games will be missed by the three-time Pro Bowler. But the team was expecting him to miss a lot longer when, in Week 11, the Ravens defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 38-20 and he broke his fibula and injured his ankle ligament.

In the first quarter, Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson’s hip-drop tackle caused the 28-year-old to go down. The same kind of tackle that injured Patrick Mahomes’ high ankle sprain during the previous postseason sparked debate about whether or not such plays should be banned.

Naturally, following the victory, Baltimore’s biggest worries were not NFL rules debates. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh stated during a news conference following the game that the injury was serious and appeared to be “like a season-ending injury.”

His perspective shifted on Monday while he talked to reporters prior to Andrews’ visit with Charlotte foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson.

Andrews had a successful surgery on Tuesday. Speaking to reporters once more, Harbaugh repeated his optimism but withheld a timetable.

Andrews will probably be sidelined for the rest of the regular season. However, if the Ravens’ season goes well into the postseason, he might make a comeback.

With six games remaining, the Ravens, who are 8-3, are leading the AFC North. The team also designated Andrews as injured and promoted practice squad members Josh Ross, a linebacker, and Andrew Adams, a safety. On Sunday, they will pay a visit to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Bengals’ location Put Joe Burrow on injured reserve and move AJ McCarron to Sunday

In order to officially terminate Joe Burrow’s 2023 season, the Bengals have taken action.

Following a season-ending wrist injury sustained during the team’s 34–20 loss to Baltimore in Week 11, Burrow has been placed on injured reserve.

Burrow completed 66.8 percent of his passes for 2,309 yards with 15 touchdowns and 6 interceptions in 10 games this season.

Burrow should fully recover in time for the 2024 campaign.

With AJ McCarron being promoted from the practice squad to start as the team’s backup quarterback against the Steelers on Sunday, Jake Browning is expected to start for Cincinnati the rest of the way at quarterback. Burrow will be replaced on the 53-man roster by running back Chase Brown, who was activated off injured reserve. Brown, a fifth-round rookie, has mostly played special teams this season and has three receptions for seven yards and two carries for six yards.

Williams is back in the starting lineup. Williams has one touchdown reception in addition to a team-high six touchdowns through rushes. Royce Freeman, who rushed for 73 yards last Sunday in a 17-16 comeback victory over the Seattle Seahawks, will alternate with the second-year pro. With a right thumb injury, quarterback Matthew Stafford is still in the game despite having survived a hard hit and leading the team on two late scoring drives against the Seahawks.

But the 15-year veteran doesn’t seem to be constrained. Despite suffering a right ankle injury against the Seahawks, Cooper Kupp, the team’s star receiver, will play against the Cardinals. But Puka Nacua, a rookie, might still be Stafford’s top target. Nacua is ninth in the NFL in receptions with 69. Nacua’s shoulder problem prevented him from playing much early in the week. Kyzir White, a linebacker, has 90 tackles, including two sacks, to lead the Cardinals’ defense. Security Budda Baker returned to the field after missing the Rams’ October 15 victory over the Cardinals, 26-9. In the Houston Texans’ 21-16 victory over the Cardinals on Sunday, three passes were intercepted by the team. Antonio Hamilton, the cornerback who had one of the interceptions, is sidelined due to a groin injury.

After returning from knee surgery in January, quarterback Kyler Murray has played in two games and shown much of the elusiveness that made him so dangerous in his first four NFL seasons. Murray has thrown two interceptions and one touchdown. He’s also scored two touchdowns on the ground. Having 45 catches, including four touchdowns, is a team-best for receiver Marquise Brown. Other targets include Rondale Moore, tight end Trey McBride, and, most recently, receiver Greg Dortch. James Conner, a running back, always seems to run hard when facing the Rams. With two touchdowns, the veteran is averaging 5.1 yards per carry. Leading defensive end Aaron Donald of the Rams, the defense, has been strengthened by the addition of nose tackle Bobby Brown III and linebacker Ernest Jones, who both had strong games against the Seahawks. Despite having a difficult season for the most part, cornerback Derion Kendrick is now hoping to build on his crucial interception against the Seahawks in the fourth quarter. Cobie Durant, a cornerback, may make a comeback from a shoulder injury. Due to the absence of safety Quentin Lake due to a hamstring injury, veteran safety John Johnson’s role against the Seahawks has increased significantly.
