Colts’ About suspensions, Shane Steichen said, “There are standards.”

How Shane Steichen gained the trust of Colts locker room in first season as head coach

The Indianapolis Colts announced on Tuesday that wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie and cornerback Tony Brown had been suspended for behaviour that was harmful to the team, which came as a bit of a surprise.

Head coach Shane Steichen provided little specifics during his first media conference on Wednesday following the announcement of the suspensions.

He did, however, bring up the standard the group is working to establish.

“To begin with, as you have all seen, Tony Brown and Isaiah McKenzie have been suspended. We’re managing this internally, so I’m sure you guys will have questions about the specifics, but I have nothing more to say on that,” Steichen remarked.

In response to a question regarding the challenge of choosing to self-impose suspensions, Steichen emphasised the significance of accountability.

Indeed, I believe that there are expectations in this place, and we must hold individuals responsible. That’s all,” stated Steichen.

Both players’ lockers were empty, according to a Wednesday report from Nate Atkins of The Indianapolis Star.

The team suspended two important members of the special team for unknown reasons, and it’s unclear what went wrong or when (or if) we will find out.

It is evident that Steichen intends to establish a winning culture while maintaining strict discipline, a move that the players appear to have accepted early in his leadership.

“I believe that each situation is unique. Football teams are known for particular things, but once more, there will be expectations set here, and people will be held responsible.
