Top scorer Ben Garrity’s return to the team will please new manager Darren Moore, who is well aware of Vale’s struggles up front and in scoring. Although Garrity is by profession an attacking midfielder, he has also played up front, so he would provide James Wilson and Ryan Loft, two experienced attackers, with much-needed help and competition.

Garrity has already scored eleven goals this season, breaking double figures, but a calf injury has kept him out of action since early January.

But Moore assured the press that both Garrity and teammate Mitch Clark are fully recovered and ready for the crucial midweek game against Reading. Moore said, “Let’s take a look, see where they are and how they perform in that training session. They are both fit and back in training on Monday. Every possibility exists.

The Valiants will also benefit from Mitch Clark’s comeback. With several players trying out on both wings, Vale has had trouble at wingback. Since October, the former Accrington player has not played.
