The Los Angeles Rams may be able to acquire additional pressure on the quarterback in free agency.

The Los Angeles Rams could look to free agency for some edge-rushing support since they finished the regular season among the lowest ten teams in the NFL in sack totals.

Andrew Van Ginkel, a free agent, is a linebacker for the Miami Dolphins who most teams could overlook.

While Josh Allen or Brian Burns are two more choices that most people would argue are superior, their prices may be a little too much for players of that caliber.

The Rams have previously expressed interest in edge rushers in free agency only in relation to stars like Von Miller and Leonard Floyd.

Miller was an aging player who simply wanted to leave his current team whenever the Rams pursued them, while Floyd was widely seen as a draft bust following his selection with the ninth overall choice in the 2013 NFL Draft.

All of that to say, the Rams have a history of pursuing unheralded free agents, and Van Ginkel definitely meets the mold. Despite starting just 11 games, he finished with a respectable six sacks during his stellar season with the Dolphins.

After joining the team, Floyd and Miller both had a significant influence almost away, and in a year where the Rams appear to be contenders, someone like Van Ginkel might have the same effect.

The Rams might relieve some of the strain on Aaron Donald and Kobe Turner and enable them to perform even better if they signed a player like Van Ginkel to rush the quarterback and come off the edge.
