Voting for the 2024 Hall of Fame Modern Player nominees will begin on Saturday, according to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Fans can vote online for the player they believe should win; the Cardinals have nominated four previous modern players for the award.
From 1965 until 1971, Steve Carlton Carlton was a player for the Cardinals. With 951 strikeouts, the left-hander is tied for third in franchise history, has won 75 games with the team before the age of 27, and ranks ninth with 10 or more strikeouts in 13 games. He played for the 1968 Cardinals who won the pennant as well as the 1967 World Series champion club.
Hendrick, George
Hendrick was traded to the Cardinals in 1978 and was a member of the organization until 1984. For four seasons in a row, he led the team in RBI and home runs and was voted MVP in each of those campaigns. In game seven of the 1982 World Series, Hendrick drove in the game-winning RBI. Out of all the outfielders in Cardinals history, he has hit the fifth most home runs.
From 1997 to 2005, Matt Morris Morris was a member of the Cardinals. As a pitcher for the Redbirds, he was victorious in 11 or more games six times. In 2001, he had a 22-8 record and was voted third for the National League Cy Young Award. With 986 strikeouts, he is the sixth-most strikeout pitcher for the Cardinals. With the Cardinals, he started 11 postseason games, which was third most
Renteria Edgar
From 1999 to 2004, Renteria was a player with the Cardinals. In terms of home runs and stolen bases, he is the second-most successful shortstop in Cardinals history. During his time with the Cardinals, he was awarded two Gold Gloves and three Silver Sluggers. He played for four division-winning teams in St. Louis and was a three-time All-Star.
The Red Ribbon Committee will select a veteran player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The Cardinals’ chairman and chief executive officer, Bill DeWitt Jr., stated that the yearly Hall of Fame Induction ceremony serves as a bridge between generations of fans. “We are grateful to the Red Ribbon Committee for their invaluable assistance during this process and their genuine interest in the history of the Cardinals.”
The player must have been retired from Major League Baseball for at least three years and have played for the Cardinals for at least three seasons in order to be eligible for the nomination.
The voting period runs from February 24 until April 26. You can cast your ballot at Cardinals.com/HOF.
On September 7, there will be a ceremony to officially induct the winner into the Cardinals Hall of Fame.

One of the key special teams players the Arizona Cardinals had late in the season is returning. Dan Chisena, a receiver, was signed to a 2024 futures contract, it was revealed.
Late in the season, Chisena was a member of the Cardinals practice squad. He was added to the active roster for the final three games of the season. He made four total game appearances. He made one offensive play in four games and two tackles on 53 special teams snaps.
Chisena was able to sign with the practice squad of the Baltimore Ravens after the season, thanks to the Cardinals releasing him before his contract expired. He participated in every postseason game for the Ravens.
