Isaiah Bolden of the New England Patriots has been discharged from the hospital following his stretcher-off during the preseason game against the Green Bay Packers.
As Patriots teammate Calvin Munson attempted to tackle Packers receiver Malik Heath, he unintentionally smacked rookie cornerback Bolden.
With 10:49 remaining in the fourth quarter and the Patriots up 21-17, the teams decided to call it a night.
The seventh-round draft selection from Jackson State University, Bolden, according to the Patriots, had “feeling in all his extremities” and was discharged from the hospital after being admitted for observation for the night.
“Patriots cornerback Isaiah Bolden has been released from the Aurora Bay Medical Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where he was transported after sustaining an on-field injury in the fourth quarter of Saturday night’s preseason game between the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers,” the statement stated. “Isaiah Bolden underwent a series of evaluations and was held for overnight observations.”
“Today, Isaiah will go with the team. We also applaud the medical staffs of the Patriots and Packers for their prompt on-field response and care in getting Isaiah to a nearby hospital, and the medical staffs at Aurora Bay Medical Center for their overnight examinations.
Owing to the events leading up to the sudden and unexpected conclusion of the game last night, the Patriots will be playing in Foxborough today. The combined practices with the Tennessee Titans that were slated for this Tuesday and Wednesday have been canceled. This week, the squad will rehearse in Foxborough before taking a Thursday flight to Nashville to play on Friday night.”
Bill Belichick, the coach of the Patriots, stated: “I like how the league handled it.” I believe that was the correct course of action.”
