Former Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has agreed to a contract with the Colts in NFL free agency.
After spending one season with a Ravens divisional rival in the Cleveland Browns, Flacco has agreed to terms with the Indianapolis Colts for a one-year contract.
Flacco spent 11 years in Baltimore and had some spectacular moments, especially in 2012 when he had a remarkable playoff run and helped the team win its most recent Super Bowl.
Since his days as the Ravens starting quarterback, Flacco had become a bit of a journeyman. However, when many were beginning to think he was out of the league for good last year, Flacco returned from the brink of retirement to help lead the Browns into the playoffs.
While taking Cleveland to the playoffs, Flacco earned some hardware and was named the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year. He threw for a combined 14 touchdowns in just six games.
Now, the veteran will take his talents to Indianapolis after agreeing to a deal worth up to $8.7 million with $4.5 million guaranteed, according to NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Going forward, Flacco finds himself in familiar territory. He’ll be in a quarterback room alongside the most freakishly athletic quarterback to enter the league since Lamar Jackson was a rookie toward the end of his tenure in Baltimore.
