Before the start of the Olympics, Exum is facing a dilemma due to a recent finger injury. According to an ESPN article by Olgun Uluc, the Mavericks guard may need some time to recover.

“Sources informed ESPN that Danté Exum is expected to be sidelined for a period due to a finger injury but will stay with the Australian Boomers for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Exum dislocated his finger in the second quarter of Monday morning’s (AEST) exhibition match between Australia and France after driving to the basket. He immediately exited the game and went to the locker room.

The 29-year-old was later taken to the hospital for scans, which revealed a compound dislocation of his right index finger. Despite the initial seriousness of the injury, the scans showed no fractures, and Exum is set to remain with the Boomers as they prepare for their Olympic opener against Spain on July 27,” Uluc reported.
