Dallas Mavericks has finally owned the race to resign this veteran star player on Tuesday after…

On Wednesday night, the Dallas Mavericks secured their 50th win of the season with a 111-92 victory over the Miami Heat.

This result meant Kyrie Irving earned an additional $1 million, as it allowed him to achieve one of his two bonuses for the 2023–2024 season. Reports indicate that to qualify for the first bonus, the Mavericks needed to win 50 games and Irving had to participate in 58 games.

However, with only two games remaining in the regular season, Irving will fall short of the 65-game requirement needed for his second bonus.

Regarding the three-year, potentially $126 million contract he signed in September, Irving commented to reporters, “I wanted all the incentives in my contract to be based on my performance, specifically wins and the number of games I play. I’m very aware of these goals, and I aimed to have clear expectations and fair terms from the start of the season, with the primary focus being on playing as many games as possible.”

Few teams have been as impressive as the Mavericks as they approach the playoffs. They’ve won 16 of their last 18 games, Luka Dončić is making a compelling MVP bid while coming close to a triple-double average for the season (33.9 PPG, 9.8 APG, 9.2 RPG), and Kyrie Irving seems to have found excellent chemistry with his superstar teammate.

The Mavericks have secured the No. 5 seed and will face the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the playoffs.

Irving is contributing significantly with averages of 25.6 points, 5.2 assists, and five rebounds per game, shooting 49.5 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from three-point range. According to NBA.com, the Mavericks outscore their opponents by 6.9 points per 100 possessions when Irving is on the floor, compared to being outscored by 0.7 points per 100 possessions when he is not.

It’s clear that Irving has become well-integrated into the team in Dallas. And on Wednesday, he also earned some additional cash.
