Patriots offense loses to the Chargers in a shutout as they once again fail to “keep up our end of the bargain.”

The ninth-best point average in football came into Gillette Stadium on Sunday from the Los Angeles Chargers. However, they managed to score a mere six points when the game clock reached the zero mark on Sunday.

Even with the meager amount of points scored, it was sufficient to defeat New England, whose offense produced a goose egg for the second time at home this season.

Running back Ezekiel Elliott told reporters after the game, “Super frustrating, not being able to go out there—defense holds them to six points and for us not to be able to go out there and put us anything on the board is tough.” “Those guys on the defensive [side of the] ball, I feel bad for them. Every week, they’ve been putting up strong defense. We need to assist them and find ways to increase our offensive production.

Honestly, I give it up to our defense,” JuJu Smith-Schuster added. “Regardless of how it’s been going for us on offense, they’ve been doing their job, doing their thing, and they stopped a high-powered offense like the Chargers and only gave up six points.”

Sunday’s game marked the third straight game New England’s defense has held an opponent to 10 points or under. But due to the current offensive woes, the Patriots dropped all three contests, becoming the first team since the 1938 Chicago Cardinals to allow 10 points or less in three straight games and lose all three.

It’s annoying. incredibly annoying. Tight end Hunter Henry expressed his frustration, saying, “I know we’re all frustrated.”

Clearly, we haven’t lived up to our end of the agreement. Of course. Right now, they’re playing incredibly well. Although we were able to hold them to six points despite the unfavorable circumstances, we still need to improve our execution. That is an extremely strong offense.

Two field goals, one coming after New England gave up a 34-yard punt return to put Los Angeles in scoring position, accounted for the six points allowed on Sunday.

Is it sufficient? Though it’s not our norm, I think so, linebacker Jahlani Tavai said. “We don’t want to see a score on the board if perfection is our goal. We don’t even want them to score field goals, even though we held their offense to no touchdowns. We take it personally when they pass us by because that is the mindset we use as a defense.

Safety Jabrill Peppers said, “We have to play better complementary football.” “No matter what phase it is, we simply cannot play effectively on one side of the ball. They were in scoring position after we gave up a big punt return, and they did so by being aggressive. Our role as a defense is to neutralize the lead.

The New England Patriots will now immediately shift their attention to their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night, where they will need to perform even better on defense to win.

“The bar is quite high. From one man to another, we understand our responsibilities. We just ask that you play for the man who is next to you and give it your all. Peppers continued, “We have to start scoring on defense, we have to do more, and we have to take some more shots.”
