ITS HAPPENING: Raiders Poised To Land Unbelievable Arizona WR Likened To Devante Adams In Latest Mock Draft
Many Las Vegas Raiders fans have lost hope for a turnaround this season and are already focusing on the 2025 NFL Draft.
Coach Antonio Pierce’s squad has struggled throughout the year, suffering six consecutive losses and sitting just half a game away from having the worst record in the league.
As the NFL Draft approaches in April, the Raiders’ selection will draw significant attention. There is widespread expectation that they will choose a future franchise quarterback, provided the right player is available.
How good is McMillan?
However, one NFL expert believes the Raiders could take a different approach.
CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson recently released a mock draft in which the Raiders did not select a quarterback. In his scenario, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders went No. 2 overall to the New York Giants, and Miami’s Cam Ward was picked No. 3 overall by the Cleveland Browns.
Instead of a quarterback, Wilson had the Raiders selecting Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan with the fourth overall pick.
On McMillan, Wilson wrote:
“The Raiders miss out on a QB, but they desperately need to improve their wide receiver group after trading Davante Adams to New York. With Brock Bowers already emerging as one of the top tight ends in the league, Tetairoa McMillan provides a Drake London-like threat on the outside. Now, Vegas just needs to find that quarterback.”
While it may come as a surprise to many Raiders fans, wide receiver could be the second-biggest area of need for the team, following quarterback.
Tetairoa McMillan is an athletic standout on the outside. The 6-foot-5, 212-pound receiver for Arizona has been impressive this season, recording 69 receptions for 1,136 yards and seven touchdowns.
McMillan began the season with a bang, catching 10 passes for 304 yards and four touchdowns in Arizona’s opener against New Mexico. He’s a rare talent, capable of making plays after the catch and using his large frame to win nearly every jump ball situation.
After trading away Davante Adams, the Raiders will need to secure a top receiving target for whoever their next quarterback may be. McMillan has all the tools to be a star at the NFL level.
Pairing McMillan with Brock Bowers—without a clear answer at quarterback—could be a bold move. However, if the Raiders do find stability at quarterback, the combination of Bowers and McMillan could create a dangerous offensive duo.
