The Chicago Bears will be bolstered greatly on Sunday in anticipation of their matchup with the fierce Detroit Lions. According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the Bears intend to bring running back Khalil Herbert off of injured reserve (IR).

Center Doug Kramer was discarded by the Chicago Bears on Saturday, November 4, off their 53-man roster. The Arizona Cardinals claimed him on Monday. Kramer was waived on November 15, thus his time in the desert was cut short to just nine days. The Bears re-signed him to their practice squad today after he cleared waivers without a team filing a claim.

For the whole of his three-year career, Khalil Herbert has been a member of the Chicago Bears. Prior to getting hurt in Week 6, the former sixth-round draft pick averaged 5.3 yards per rush attempt. Given that former colleague David Montgomery signed a contract with the Detroit Lions, this season has been Herbert’s first as the clear starter. In contrast, Herbert had a productive timeshare in 2021–2022, running for 1,164 yards and six touchdowns. The Virginia Tech product has good pass-catching ability as well. Throughout his NFL career, he has caught 33 catches for 236 yards and two touchdowns.

On Sunday, November, he did not play in the Cardinals’ lone game.
