Michael Hall Jr., a defensive tackle for Ohio State football, will not play for the Buckeyes versus Maryland, according to Pete Thamel of ESPN. Following his apparent injury during the Michigan State game, Hall has been sidelined. He only participated in two of the Spartans’ drives.

Hall is a seasoned starter for the Buckeyes who was expected to have a breakthrough year in 2023, but injuries have repeatedly halted his growth. The Big Ten has a constant need for run defense, which is what makes him most famous for it. A man like Hall who can thwart explosive plays is vital on the field in a conference full of excellent running backs.

This week, the Buckeyes are heavy favorites over the Minnesota Golden Gophers, so his absence won’t be noticed too much. Ohio State will take on unbeaten Michigan in “The Game” in Ann Arbor in one week. To be ready for one of the deepest teams in the nation, Ohio State will need Hall and anybody else they can get healthy.

Given how much is at stake in the game the next week, head coach Ryan Day and his staff might take a cautious approach with Hall. This week, rotational players may gain a feel for a long snap count on the field, which might potentially benefit the Buckeyes in the long run.

Hall’s injury will be watched closely, and if he’s healthy enough, they’ll probably ease him back into practice the following week. Although Hall’s absence shouldn’t worry the Buckeyes right now, if he isn’t back on the active roster by next weekend, things may look otherwise.

In Week 13, the Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes will square off for a chance to play in the College Football Playoffs. Additionally, Jay Feely, a former NFL kicker who is now an NFL pundit for CBS Sports, was caught up in the yearly backstabbing between the two opposing fan bases.

Feely had a 14-year NFL career after playing for Michigan from 1995 to 1998, which made him a notable player. He moved from playing to the CBS broadcast booth once his playing career ended, and he has been there ever since.

The former standout player for Michigan has witnessed the program’s pinnacle. He was a member of Michigan’s National Championship-winning squad in 1997—the program’s last national championship.

It should come as no surprise, then, that Feely still has a strong sense of loyalty to his alma mater—especially in the face of criticism.

This is the scenario that emerged on Friday on Twitter. Former Ohio State defensive end Matt Finkes, who was a member of the Buckeyes at the same time as Feely at Michigan, attacked Feely and Michigan on social media for the schools’ incident involving sign theft.

Finkes wrote on Twitter, “Hey @Jayfeely better dust off some more locker room banter about paying players back in the day.” “****’s back in Ann Arbor and getting real.” What is it? Four employees/coaches were let go, and your HC has been suspended for half of the year. Heads up, Bucks. Michigan made a fake. As Harbaugh knew.
