After weak performances against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, a Super Eagles star deleted their social media accounts.
After a 1-1 tie with lowly Lesotho on Thursday, the Super Eagles needed a goal from Kelechi Iheanacho in the second half to escape Zimbabwe with another 1-1 draw on Sunday.
Super Eagles gave up two goals, however none of them were directly caused by errors made by Uzoho. Fans were however frustrated that the goalie for Omonia Nicosia was unable to stop the long-range free kick that handed the Warriors the early advantage in Rwanda.
When he gave up easy goals in international friendlies last month against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique, the former Golden Eaglets goalie did not help the situation.
Fans and commentators have harshly criticized Uzoho, demanding that head coach Jose Peseiro take his spot as the Super Eagles’ starting quarterback in light of his lackluster performances.
The reason behind his account deactivation remains unknown, however a visit to Uzoho’s @Uzohof Twitter account on X reveals it is no longer active.
But the 25-year-old goalie’s Instagram account is still active.

At the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup, Uzoho, then just 14 years old, was a member of the Super Eagles team that won everything. As Dele Alampasu’s backup, he helped the team win.

At the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, the former Deportivo La Coruña goaltender was Nigeria’s top player, starting all three of the team’s matches.
Additionally, Uzoho assisted Nigeria in winning a bronze medal at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, where he played goal for the country.
Uzoho’s popularity among Super Eagles fans had not always been high, particularly following his part in Nigeria’s defeat by Ghana in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match.
Following the deactivation of his account on X (previously known as Twitter), Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has said goodbye to his supporters and detractors on one of his social media accounts, according to Soccernet.ng.
