Premier League star Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal “dream” of signing him for £60 million.

Ahead of the January transfer window, Fabrizio Romano has given an update on Arsenal’s situation and their interest in Douglas Luiz.

The transfer insider reaffirmed on his YouTube channel that Luiz is “the top target” for the Gunners in 2019.

Romano continued, “Aston Villa and Brazil’s midfielder are targets for Arsenal.”

He did, however, also admit that nothing solid was in place at the moment and that the negotiations with the Villans would not be simple.

Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa is the main objective, according to Romano. “Despite rumors, there is nothing to do with Ruben Neves.

However, from what I gather, Douglas Luiz finds it difficult to close the deal. Arsenal is dreaming of him and will try, but it’s not a firm plan.

It’s not an easy negotiation with Aston Villa at all, so let’s see what happens.

Arsenal has long been interested in Luiz, and they made a concerted effort to sign him in 2022.

According to The Guardian, the North Londoners’ deadline-day move for the 25-year-old was unsuccessful.

Additionally, journalist Dean Jones revealed to GiveMeSport during the summer transfer window that Arsenal’s desire for Luiz remains “open secret.”

According to a TEAMtalk article from earlier in November, Luiz is estimated to be worth about £60 million.

“The most underrated midfielder in the Premier League” is a target for Arsenal.

It makes sense that Arsenal would want to sign the Villa player. He has demonstrated his abilities in the Premier League, throughout Europe, and globally.

Paul Merson recently posted on Sportskeeda, saying, “Douglas Luiz is the most underrated midfielder in the Premier League currently.”

“It’s easy to understand why Arsenal wanted him earlier in the year—the lad can do it all and shows up every week.”

Signing a star player from any club, but especially from a top European league like Vila, is extremely challenging in the middle of the season.

A club could wait until the summer, if at all, rather than willingly risk ruining their season. Luiz’s contract expires in 2026, so Villa isn’t in a hurry.

“Levels above”… The first team has recently been training with a 15-year-old Arsenal player.

There always seems to be a young player at Arsenal with incredible talent who is waiting to break through.

In recent years, Bukayo Saka, Reiss Nelson, and Emile Smith Rowe have all filled that role; however, during the last 12 months, Ethan Nwaneri has been the talk of the town.

But, a mere year after Nwaneri made history by becoming the first 15-year-old to play in the Premier League, another young star is currently gaining notoriety.

In fact, Chido Obi-Martin caused quite a stir this week when he scored ten goals—yes, ten—in a youth match against Liverpool.

As you can imagine, Obi-Martin is becoming more and more popular. Speaking on ShotsTV, Chris Wheatley asserted that the teenage player has recently been training with the first team of Arsenal.

What Wheatley knows about the child he shared.

“We don’t cover U16 football, but it’s still amazing to score ten goals in a game—especially when playing Liverpool away—when you’re up against them. It’s important to note that Obi-Martin is more than just a random 15-year-old; he has experience training with Mikel Arteta’s first squad. He has participated at various age groups, and although I’m not sure if you’ve watched the highlights, he appears to be much older than his years. Wheatley described him as an intriguing young player with a lot of promise.
