Wolverine Confidential: Michigan’s response to Penn State and Jim Harbaugh’s suspension.
The 24 hours before Michigan’s football team’s top-10 matchup at Penn State on Saturday were a blur.
Jim Harbaugh, the head coach, flew to State College with the team to oversee their game, but by the time the plane touched down, the Big Ten had suspended the 59-year-old for the duration of the regular season due to a breach of the league’s sportsmanship policy.
After a last-ditch attempt to secure a temporary restraining order to overturn the suspension failed, Michigan was left to play without Harbaugh on the sidelines. Under interim head coach Sherrone Moore, the third-ranked Wolverines defeated No. 10 Penn State 24–15 to maintain their perfect record.
The tense days leading up to Saturday’s game and the key lessons that MLive’s Ryan Zuke, Andrew Kahn, and Aaron McMann learned from Michigan’s victory are covered in the most recent episode of the “Wolverine Confidential” podcast.
