BREAKING NEWS: Denver Nuggets Take On The San Spurs In…

The Denver Nuggets take on the San Antonio Spurs in an effort to get back on track.

The Denver Nuggets are back from a terrible road trip that resulted in a 1-4 record and their elimination from the NBA Cup. They will now get a little break when they play the San Antonio Spurs at home. San Antonio has won just three games this year, so it hasn’t been a good start for them.

The Spurs seem to be a long way from contending for a postseason spot, even with the addition of first overall pick Victor Wembanyama, a player of a generation. They are on an eleven-game losing streak when they travel to Denver. Wemby’s immediate surroundings simply lack talent because San Antonio is fully committed to rebuilding. With their 7’4′′ insanely talented and athletic center/point guard/wing combo, they undoubtedly have a very bright future ahead of them, but for the time being, they might be the solution to the Nuggets’ problems.

Injury Report: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope: probable (ankle), Nikola Jokic: probable (back), Aaron Gordon: probable (heel), Reggie Jackson: probable (back), Following injuries to their hamstrings and backs, Jamal Murray and Vlatko Cancar are out of the G-League; Dominick Barlow, Charles Bediako, Sidy Cissoko, Sir’Jabari Rice, and Blake Wesley are out of the G-League.

The Nuggets will get their first taste of the newest and greatest basketball player. It’s finally Wemby time, after all the excitement. It’s critical to keep in mind that Victor is still a rookie at nineteen years old. Even with all of his talent, agility, and physical strength, he’s still getting used to the NBA game, and as is to be expected, his NBA career has had its ups and downs in its early going. Undoubtedly, though, he poses a formidable defensive challenge for the Nuggets, and I’m willing to wager that Aaron Gordon is selected.

AG is the most physically fit and athletically suited to guard Wembanyama, but his biggest vulnerability will be the eight inches he will have to give up in height. Trying to slow down the young Spurs player will probably require teamwork as well. Denver’s offensive attack in the lane must be fearless because Gordon is shooting under 30% from three, and Wemby will undoubtedly roam the court.

Denver’s recent five-game road trip is tied for the longest of the season. Don’t expect the team to be playing at full capacity just because they are back home. When you finally get back to sleeping in your own bed and practicing in your own gym, it’s a natural human reaction to mentally relax. However, too often, this backfires when it comes time for the team to play. The Nuggets are currently in no position to take anyone lightly.

even the Spurs (3–13). Their ability to handle the difficulties they’ve encountered due to their schedule, injuries, inexperience, and other factors—which have caused them to lose five of their previous seven games—will be put to the test in this game.

Why not, really? Although there may not be much logic in this, wouldn’t it be amazing to see AG content, Wemby? Though there’s more than just my desire to see it as a fan, I think there are many reasons to think Gordon will be giving it his all tonight. He just played in his worst game as a Denver Nugget, so I anticipate that he will be trying to erase the bad memory from his memory with a strong performance. Gordon needs to play with intensity on both ends of the court, so he might not even get a swat on Wemby in a great game. Instead, I think he’ll get help from the weakside and have opportunities to chase down blocks.
