Head Coach of the Green Bay Packers, Matt LaFleur, Talks About the Security Guard Who Tried to Stop Him During the Halftime of Their Week 12 Victory.

On Thanksgiving, the Green Bay Packers defeated the Detroit Lions 29–22, and very little could stop them. On the opening play of the game, Jordan Love connected with Christian Watson for a 53-yard reception, kicking off a game that Green Bay would never trail.

Considering that the Lions (now 8-3) thrashed Green Bay in every aspect of the game in a rout at Lambeau Field in Week Four, many were taken aback by the Packers’ convincing victory. The Packers were also missing a lot of their starting and/or important players. Due to injuries, Jaire Alexander, De’Vondre Campbell, Aaron Jones, Dontayvion Wicks, and both of their starting safeties, Rudy Ford and Darnell Savage, were sidelined.

Head coach Matt LaFleur appears to perform best when his cupboard is empty. In 2021, his Packers team defeated the 7-0 Arizona Cardinals 24-21 despite being without its three best wide receivers, David Bakhtiari and Alexander.

With his stellar roster, he created yet another masterpiece on Thanksgiving. The Packers were, in fact, nearly as unbeatable as they have been the entire season. Nonetheless, a security guard made every effort to prevent LaFleur and his team from escaping through the tunnel at halftime.

A Security Guard for the Detroit Lions Tried to Prevent Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur from Accessing His Team’s Tunnel.

The Packers’ explosive 20-point first quarter helped them to a 23-6 lead at the half. Excitement was palpable as Coach LaFleur raced to meet his players in the locker room at the stroke of midnight. For whatever reason, one of the security officers tried to prevent LaFleur from going through the tunnel:

LaFleur said to Fox’s Tom Rinadli that he had never experienced anything similar in his coaching career.

Why the security guard tried to stop Coach LaFleur is still unknown. It really begs the question of what was possibly going through his mind at that precise moment.
