Vikings receives a huge and unexpected injury update…

Prior to the Bears game, Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings receives a huge and unexpected injury update.

This week, when the Minnesota Vikings and Justin Jefferson play the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, they hope to get back on track. The Vikings suffered a devastating loss to the Denver Broncos last weekend, capping a five-game winning streak. The Vikings’ season ended with a 6-5 record, and they are now only one game out of the Wild Card playoff picture.

For has Justin Jefferson been absent? Jefferson suffered a hamstring injury on October 8. Despite the Vikings opening his return window (from IR) on November 8th, he hasn’t played since. Prior to their Monday night football game against the Chicago Bears, the Vikings made some rather surprising announcements about Jefferson.

Star wide receiver Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings is expected to be sidelined for Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears.

Even though Justin Jefferson is listed as questionable for the Minnesota Vikings’ game against Chicago on Monday night, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the team will proceed cautiously with their star wide receiver and that he is not expected to play.

The source states that Jefferson is anticipated to be ready for the game in Las Vegas on December 10 following Minnesota’s bye the following week.

For the first time in his highly successful four-year career, Jefferson will miss games due to a hamstring injury. In the first five weeks, the NFL Offensive Player of the Year had 36 catches for 571 yards and three touchdowns on 53 targets.

Although Jefferson stated on Friday that he “definitely does not want to sit out” the Bears game, he also stated that exercising patience “comes with the game, it comes with trying to be healthy, trying to be 100 percent and [following] the safe route.”

As the Vikings have the bye the following weekend, Jefferson might decide to play one more game before returning for Week 14 against the Raiders. Nine weeks will have passed since his injury. He ought to be 100% by then. He would undoubtedly give the Vikings a significant boost as they approach the most crucial portion of the schedule.
