Following a victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, quarterback Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens praised the defense.

Lamar Jackson, the quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, expressed his gratitude for his defense following Sunday Night Football’s 20-10 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on the road.

“Our defense was playing lights out all night, and we wasn’t doing what we usually do and putting points on the board for those guys,” Jackson stated. “I’m grateful we have a great defense cause without them, who knows how this game would have went.”

It was the fifth time this season that the Ravens defense had limited an opponent to 10 points or fewer, as they held the Chargers to just 10 points. Even though Baltimore’s defense was already among the best in the NFL in terms of statistics, its performance on Sunday Night only made it stronger.

The Ravens are allowing opponents to score a pitiful 15.6 points per game, which is the second-best average in the NFL behind the San Francisco 49ers (15.5). They gave up 279 yards of total offense to Los Angeles, which is marginally more than their league-best average of 273.9.

Despite forcing three fumbles, an interception, and four takeaways during the contest, Baltimore was only able to capitalize on three of the turnovers for three points. All throughout the game, Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert was under pressure, and the Ravens added three more touchdowns to their league-high 47 sack total.

Although Jackson and the offense didn’t play to their full potential, they were still able to complete the task. Particularly, rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers was responsible for both of Baltimore’s touchdowns during the contest.

The Ravens lead the AFC going into their bye week with a 9-3 record. In Week 13, they will be taking a well-earned break and seeing if any of the Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, or Kansas City Chiefs can break into a tie for first place.
