Since Josh McDaniels was replaced as interim coach by Antonio Pierce, the Las Vegas Raiders have been a player-led team. Going forward, that continues to be the case.

The Las Vegas Raiders have been noticeably more player-friendly since Interim Coach Antonio Pierce took over as head coach. Pierce, a former player, has stated that he and his coaching staff still value the opinions of their players.

Pierce’s perspective on the subject has been shaped by his experiences as a National Football League player and as a football coach at different levels.

“A small amount of both,” Pierce replied. “I’ve been coaching for a long time, and I was a player as well. I believe the feedback you receive there, particularly from your talented players.

“I am aware of the individuals you are referring to: Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs. It would be irresponsible of you to ignore their advice or what they believe will be most helpful to them. Then, in my opinion, you have to consider how your plan fits in with what your opponent is trying to accomplish.”

The coaching staff of the Las Vegas Raiders values the opinions of its leaders, including Davante Adams.

Pierce is aware that things don’t always go as planned, but he also believes that open communication between coaches and players is always beneficial as the Raiders prepare for their bye week.

This is particularly true for a group that has proven it can perform at a high level now that they have a coaching staff they click with.

Pierce added, “And it doesn’t work out that way every week.” There are weeks when it’s 100%. We accept all input, without exception. We have to put this on the back burner during other weeks. However, it also brings everyone together. Coaches and players are linked and collaborate with each other.

“As I’ve stated previously, it’s a team win or a team loss. Everyone should, in my opinion, have a voice, but ultimately, it is up to the coordinators and me to decide.”

After winning both of their first two games under Pierce, Las Vegas has now dropped two consecutive games.

Over those four weeks, the Raiders’ offensive performance seemed more cohesive than it had been earlier in the season, but Pierce and the offense still need to step it up as the campaign gets closer.

On Sunday, December 10, at 4:05 p.m. EST/1:05 p.m. PST, the Silver and Black will play the Minnesota Vikings at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
