Update on Suns injuries: Devin Booker will not play against the Nuggets tonight.
Booker will indeed be sidelined due to the ankle injury he suffered in Toronto.
Devin Booker, a guard for the Phoenix Suns, has been on fire this year. In addition to giving out help and crushing the competition every night, he has been launching pop-up restaurants in every city he travels to. They are charbroiled by his playmaking, shot-making, and efficiency, and they leave with grill marks.
Unfortunately, injuries are the only thing that can stop Booker—not opposing defenses. Booker will not play against the Nuggets tonight due to an ankle sprain sustained during the Suns’ Wednesday loss to the Toronto Raptors.
This season, Booker will miss his ninth game because of an injury. Earlier in the season, he had to miss games due to a traveling pain that began in his foot, traveled up to his ankle, and ultimately caused a strain in his right calf.
Bradley Beal is still not playing due to lower back pain. Frank Vogel gave us a three-week timeline for the reevaluation, and we are already two weeks into it. Next week, we shouldn’t have any further updates on his progress.
Tonight, riding a three-game winning streak and with a 13-6 record, the defending NBA champions visit the city. Kevin Durant and the Nuggets will square off.
The news that Devin Booker would be officially sidelined for the Suns’ game against the Nuggets, in which they could have used him to settle down and potentially avoid the 17-point deficit they were facing early on, confirmed Suns fans’ worst fears.
But he wasn’t alone—the Nuggets defeated the Phoenix Suns 119-111 on Friday night, missing both Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon. Well, at least The Joker vs. Slim Reaper was still happening (is that even a thing?). Nonetheless, with the two European big men slugging it out in the post the entire evening, some would argue it was the Nurkic vs. Jokic matchup.
We finally have some clarity on Beal’s health status, which is at least helpful for Suns fans who are still trying to come to terms with the fact that we saw the most flukey Kevin Durant second half in recent (or any) memory, going 0-10 from the field. His timeline looks to be on track, so it might be possible for him to take action in a week.
Next to Rockstar Studios’ impending announcement of the highly anticipated GTA VI release, the big three’s emergence is one of the most anticipated events in recent pop culture history.
