In terms of performance and weather, the Pittsburgh Steelers were dealt a severe blow on Sunday when they lost 24–10 to the Arizona Cardinals. The dull performance by the Steelers was reflected in the game, which was plagued by heavy rain and lightning that caused two delays.

But Steelers coach Mike Tomlin would not allow outside circumstances to justify his team’s poor performance. Tomlin expressed his honest opinion after the game, calling the Steelers’ performance against the Cardinals “JV football.”

Speaking to reporters, Tomlin examined all of the errors that the Steelers made in the 14-point loss, accepting full responsibility for the disappointing performance.

“It was a terrible day at work.” To be perfectly honest with you, we didn’t do much right in that game,” Tomlin said. “Obviously, we have to take responsibility for that, and I have to lead the way first. merely losing the game of football. It was, in fact.

The long list of mistakes included a plethora of operational and pre-snap penalties in addition to mishaps like poor snaps that Tomlin described as “JV football in a lot of ways.”

The Steelers struggled in the efficiency metrics that had been their bulwark earlier in the season, even though they outgained the Cardinals—a divergence from their typical performance. Only four of the team’s eleven third-down attempts were successful, they only scored touchdowns on one of their three red zone possessions, and they had nine penalties for 77 yards, with a turnover margin of minus one.

The Cardinals, on the other hand, displayed exceptional efficiency, going 10-for-17 on third down, scoring on each of their three red zone possessions, and most importantly, not giving up any points. Arizona’s victory was their first away from home this year.

Tomlin’s candid analysis highlights the Steelers’ need for responsibility and development as they face the season’s obstacles after the team survived both real and figurative storms.
