Warriors Announce Changes to Their Roster Following Loss to Clippers.
Trayce Jackson-Davis will return to the G-League, the Golden State Warriors have announced following their disappointing afternoon loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Jackson-Davis will get the chance to play for the Santa Cruz Warriors on Tuesday when they take on the Ontario Clippers, as Golden State won’t play again until Wednesday. The Warriors stated the following when they announced the roster change:
It was announced today that Trayce Jackson-Davis, a center/forward, has been assigned by the Golden State Warriors to their G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors. Jackson-Davis is anticipated to participate in Santa Cruz’s game at Toyota Arena tomorrow night (7 p.m. PST tipoff) against the Ontario Clippers. With the Santa Cruz Warriors this season, Jackson-Davis has played in three games (all starts) and averaged 19.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.3 blocks in 27.7 minutes. With Golden State, Jackson-Davis has played in 13 games, averaging 7.9 minutes, 3.0 points, and 1.8 rebounds per contest.
Jackson-Davis will probably be called up for Golden State’s upcoming game on Wednesday against the Portland Trail Blazers, but for the time being, it makes sense to have him with the G-League team to gain valuable game experience. Jackson-Davis has not had many opportunities to play in the NBA, so the Warriors would prefer that he continue to grow in the G-League by playing regularly.

As of the release of the annual NBA general manager survey, the Golden State Warriors were voted out of championship. Steve Kerr was questioned about the Warriors’ lack of expectation among NBA general managers to return to the top of the league following a dismal season that followed their 2022 championship run.
“I don’t care,” Kerr chuckled. “It doesn’t matter. I never found it beneficial when others chose us. Doesn’t accomplish anything for me that they don’t, so it’s just stuff; fans can read interesting things, but it’s neither damaging nor helpful to us. Definitely not stuff for a bulletin board. Not writing that on the wall of the changing room… I doubt that anyone is concerned.
The Warriors are no longer the overwhelming favorites, despite being such for many years. Golden State will need to demonstrate once more that they still possess the ability to compete at the greatest level because this is similar to how people felt about them before they won the 2022 championship.
The Warriors’ poor performance in the regular season and postseason the previous year makes sense, so there isn’t much talk about a championship this year. Golden State is being passed over because of the strength of the Eastern Conference and the continued dominance of the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference, but they are not concerned about it.
