Logan Ryan, a defensive back for the former Buccaneers and a ten-year NFL veteran, has found a new home after joining the 49ers on Tuesday as they prepare for a postseason run here in a few weeks.

Ryan started his career with the New England Patriots as a right cornerback and later switched to the left corner position when he joined the Tennessee Titans. Ryan has played a variety of positions in the secondary throughout his career. After leaving the Titans, Ryan joined the New York Giants, where he spent two seasons playing strong and free safety. Then, he moved to Tampa Bay to play safety during Tom Brady’s final season there.

Ryan will now travel to the Bay Area to play for the 49ers, who are among the favorites to win the Super Bowl. It is unclear at this point what position Ryan will play.

Ryan has made 742 tackles (536 solo) in his ten-year NFL career. He has also recovered 15 fumbles, forced four, and picked off 19 opposing quarterbacks, returning one for a touchdown.

Seeing as how much playing time Logan Ryan will get right away with the 49ers is interesting, as he hasn’t played with any other team this season. However, he will bring a wealth of experience that will assist in resolving some of the problems they have encountered in the secondary.

The Buccaneers need to win their in-division games in the final few weeks to stay in the running for the NFC South championship. The Bucs accomplished this goal in Week 13 by defeating the Carolina Panthers 21–18.

The Buccaneers have fallen a significant distance in the NFL power rankings over the last few weeks. After a victory over the now-1-11 Panthers, did the Bucs’ position in the power rankings change in any way? Here are the Bucs’ pre-Week 14 power rankings.

Do we give Mike Evans enough credit? Do we really understand the kind of career he’s had, really? I saw a highlight of Evans’ 75-yard catch on Sunday, and the announcer said, “And he’s only 30 years old!” I mean, I know a lot about the ages of NFL players, but how is a man only thirty years old when he has had ten straight seasons with 1,000 yards? It is illogical. Second is Randy Moss, who began his career with six consecutive seasons like that.

Jerry Rice, who owns the record with 14 seasons of 1,000 yards receiving, will be Evans’ next opponent. Whether his team is in the postseason or not, the man never fails to deliver, rain or shine. Next week in Atlanta, he will have an opportunity to keep the Bucs in the playoff hunt. Evans and the offense may have to carry the load because the Bucs’ defense is depleted by injuries and appears weak at times.
