Targets win in-state Vols commitment Mr. Football Awards in Tennessee.
Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Awards were given out on Tuesday at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, the home of the NFL’s Tennessee Titans, to one of Tennessee’s commitments and two of the Vols’ in-state targets. Regardless of position, the top players in each classification in the state receive the awards.
Tennessee commitment of four stars Boo Carter, a Top247 athlete from Cleveland, Tennessee’s Bradley Central High School, won the Class 6A Mr. Football Award. He defeated two other athletes, one of the Vols’ newest in-state targets, Daune Morris of Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and quarterback Braden Graham of Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, who is in the Class of 2024.
Carter, entering his senior season, transferred to Bradley Central this spring. He caught 78 passes for 1,245 yards and 16 touchdowns in addition to rushing for 362 yards and seven touchdowns. In addition, he returned kickoffs for touchdowns on two punt returns. He amassed 101 defensive tackles, including three sacks, six tackles for loss, and two interceptions.
Since choosing the Vols over Michigan in June, Carter has made Tennessee his home. He intends to enroll in January and take part in a few of Tennessee’s on-campus bowl practices this month.
Radarious Jackson, a wide receiver from Sheffield High School in Memphis, Tennessee, class of 2025, won the Class 3A Mr. Football Award after putting up incredible stats as a two-way standout this season. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Jackson ran for 782 yards, nine touchdowns, and an average of 11.8 yards per carry in addition to catching 30 passes for 696 yards and 13 touchdowns, averaging 23.2 yards per reception. In defense, he recorded 63 tackles and eight interceptions.
In addition to the scholarship offer from Tennessee that he received in October, Jackson currently has offers from at least twelve other universities, including Vanderbilt, Auburn, Ole Miss, Oregon, Mississippi State, and Colorado. On November 18, he made his first visit to the Vols to watch their home game against Georgia. Kelsey Pope, the coach of the Tennessee wide receivers, visited Sheffield on Monday to see how Jackson was doing.
Class of 2025 safety rated at four stars The winner of the Division II-A Mr. Football Award in Tennessee is Jay’len Mosley of Jackson (Tenn.) Christian School. The 6-foot, 190-pound Mosley, a four-star prospect according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, visited the Vols twice since April and received an offer from Tennessee in March. More than fifteen universities, including Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt, have extended offers to him.
Tennessee cornerback commitment of four stars Tennesseans interested in playing defensive linebacker Carson Gentle of McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and four-star wide receiver Amari Jefferson of Chattanooga’s Baylor School committed to Alabama were the finalists for Tennessee’s Division II-AAA Mr. Football Award. The winner was Amari Jefferson, a commitment from Alabama.
