TE receives offer from Vols through transfer portal, intends to travel to Tennessee.

A seasoned tight end who just recently signed with Tennessee through the transfer portal accepted an offer on Tuesday and is expected to visit the Vols.

A veteran tight end who declared two weeks ago that he was going to use the NCAA transfer portal has Tennessee in the running for his services. He now intends to pay the Vols a visit in the upcoming days.

Redshirt sophomore tight end Bauer Sharp of Southeastern Louisiana informed GoVols247 on Wednesday night that first-year Tennessee tight ends coach Alec Abeln had offered him a scholarship on Tuesday. According to Sharp, the Vols will now officially welcome him on a visitation the weekend of December 15.

Harrison, Lichtenhan, Hankerson, and Ham II are the only members of this group who have not yet begun a game in 2023. Amari Ward, an offensive lineman for Jackson State, is the only Colorado commitment found through the transfer portal thus far.

Since the season ended, the coaching staff has also undergone a number of changes. Tim Brewster, the former tight ends coach, was the first to join the staff as an assistant head coach at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Former Colorado offensive line coach Bill O’Boyle has joined former offensive coordinator Sean Lewis as the head coach of San Diego State University. Nick Williams, the defensive ends coach, departed the team to accept a similar role at Syracuse.

Defensive analyst Vincent Darcy was promoted from his role as a defensive analyst to outside linebackers coach, head coach Deion “Coach Prime” announced on Tuesday.

Additionally, Coach Prime disclosed over a Zoom call that a coach with power five football experience has been hired as the offensive line coach and is presently in Boulder. He did not identify the person. Pat Shurmer will probably be the offensive coordinator in 2024, Coach Prime also revealed. Earlier in the 2023 season, Shurmur received a promotion to the position.

Colorado has been active in the transfer portal and on the recruiting trail due to the need to fill positions on the field. Recruitment of linemen on both sides of the ball as well as tight ends has received a lot of attention. As of the writing of this article, X had revealed Colorado’s offers to transfer portal players.
