OHIO STATE SENT A BRUTAL MASSAGE TO FALCONS ABOUT.
In the most recent mock draft, the Falcons select Ohio State EDGE.
After a lackluster rookie season—he was selected in the second round of the 2022 cycle—Arnold Ebiketie has shown signs of improvement recently. In fact, he has amassed four sacks in his first 24 games and that many in the last five weeks.
Though it’s possible that he becomes a closer pass rusher, the Falcons should keep strengthening that aspect of the team. In fact, Ryan Wilson of CBS has Atlanta selecting J.T. Tuimoloau from Ohio State in his most recent mock draft.
He is 6-foot-4, athletic, and fits Ryan Nielsen’s scheme for an EDGE defender because of his long arms and good athleticism. His stats don’t particularly stand out—just 11 sacks in three seasons—but the Falcons should be intrigued by his skill set.
But Wilson’s evaluation of the Buckeyes’ product is beyond me. Tuimoloau is a fantastic athlete with a ton of raw power, but speed alone won’t win the corner for him.
In the opening round, I wouldn’t be opposed to this regime selecting its first defender. I wouldn’t be shocked to see the Falcons bolster a strength of this roster by adding a running partner for Drake London and Kyle Pitts or a replacement for Jake Matthews or Kaleb McGary, as there are a ton of intriguing tackles and pass catchers in this upcoming class.
His teammates gave him the nickname “Nutsack,” which he earned for his valiant performance against the Dodgers in the 2021 NLCS. The Braves led 4-2 in the seventh inning, with runners on second and third base and no outs. Matzek was called upon by Brian Snitker, and he fanned Steven Souza, Mookie Betts, and Albert Pujols.
I had never heard Truist Park erupt as loudly as I did during an eruption that would have registered on the Richter scale. The Braves advanced to the World Series after Atlanta’s victory in the game, where they defeated the Astros in six games. This was Atlanta’s first major league championship since 1995.
