The Florida State Seminoles are in the process of deciding on their football schedule for 2025.

The Seminoles’ schedule now includes a non-conference matchup against the Kent State Golden Flashes, per FBSchedules.com. NoleGameday has sent Florida State a request for public records in an effort to obtain additional information regarding the impending game.

According to FBSchedules, who obtained the schedule through a record request with Kent State University, the game is set to take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Doak Campbell Stadium. It is anticipated that the Seminoles will provide a $1.2 million guarantee in order to secure the Golden Flashes matchup.

This football game will be the first time Florida State and Kent State have faced off against one another. In their program history, the Seminoles have a 5-0 record against Mid-American Conference (MAC) schools.

Under head coach Kenni Burns’ first season, the Golden Flashes finished the 2023 season with a 1-11 record. The team last qualified for the postseason in 2021, finishing with a 7-7 record and falling to Wyoming 52-38 in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

Kent State’s schedule completion leaves Florida State with just one non-conference match left to complete its 12-game schedule for 2025. The Seminoles have already declared their non-conference games against the Florida Gators on November 29 and the Alabama Crimson Tide on August 30.

Although the dates of the conferences are not yet known, FSU already knows when they will take place in 2025. The Seminoles will visit Clemson, NC State, Stanford, and Wake Forest in addition to hosting Miami, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.

In Mike Norvell’s four years in Tallahassee, the Seminoles are 6-1 against FCS or Group of Five opponents. Since the middle of the 2022 season, Florida State has won 19 straight games.
