ALABAMA HAS FINALLY AGREED WITH THE $650 DEAL WITH…..

Even though the Southeastern Conference Championship Game was almost two weeks ago, the University of Georgia has lost a number of players due to the NCAA transfer portal.

At Mercedes-Benz Stadium on December 2, Alabama defeated the Bulldogs 27–24, but the result did not reflect the Crimson Tide’s dominance over Georgia. Kirby Smart’s team suffered its first defeat in thirty games at the hands of Alabama, eliminating it from the College Football Playoffs. When the Tide defeated Florida State in the Orange Bowl, a few players decided to test the portal. Former University of Alabama player Ryan Anderson took a stab at Georgia following the loss of a key linebacker to the portal. Anderson was a decorative linebacker for the Alabama Crimson Tide and a two-time National Champion in 2012 and 2015.

Additionally, he was a standout member of Alabama’s fierce 2016 defense, which terrified opponents.

The 36-year-old, who coached Michigan’s linebackers from 2021 to 2022, is anticipated to assist Alabama’s Rose Bowl preparation for the Wolverines right away. Although Helow’s exact position with the Tide is unknown, he replaces Coleman Hutzler, who left to take a defensive coordinator position with the Bulldogs.

As linebackers for Michigan’s defense, Helow mentored Josh Ross (106 tackles) and Junior Colson (101 tackles) to 100+ stops each. Along with Aidan Hutchinson, a former first-round selection, he helped Jim Harbaugh assemble a strong defensive team. Helow spent two years studying under Harbaugh, so he is aware of the offensive schemes the Wolverines plan to employ against Alabama. By adding him, Coach Saban has given the Tide another defensive strategist to ensure that their game plan is razor-sharp come New Year’s Day.

Saban was able to replace the esteemed assistant defensive coach that Mississippi State took from him.

The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman and Kennington Smith revealed on Thursday that George Helow was hired by the Crimson Tide.
