INDIANAPOLIS COLTS SIGNED VETRAM WR FOR THEIR NEXT MATCH WITH STEELERS.

Colts waive WR D.J. Montgomery

The Colts announced on Thursday that they have added wide receiver D.J. Montgomery from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

In response, they waived guard Arlington Hambright.

Montgomery has played in three games this season while being a member of the team’s practice squad and active roster.

On August 18, he became a Colts player.

Montgomery was on the Texans practice squad last season, having previously spent time with the Colts during their 2022 training camp. Montgomery also played for the USFL’s Michigan Panthers.

He was also a member of the Browns and Jets.

This season, Hambright has alternated between the team’s active roster and practice squad. He participated in two Indianapolis games.

After their bye week (4–9), the Commanders will probably see a lot of changes during the offseason.

Sam Howell, however, appears to be the team’s quarterback of the future, at least according to Washington’s opponent in Week 15.

When questioned about the young quarterback on Wednesday, head coach Sean McVay of the Rams gave him positive feedback.

Yes, he really is a baller. During his press conference, McVay stated, “This guy can create.” It’s evident that he has good field vision. He moves through progressions at a fast pace. He’s got all the throws down. He can deliver the ball accurately and quickly deconstruct and identify coverage contours. In addition, he has the athleticism and escape skill to buy time when things do not go as planned. By keeping his eyes down the field, he can also show that teammates can work with him. They also had playmakers everywhere.

I’m quite impressed, but Coach [Eric] Bieniemy does a good job of spreading the field.

McVay continued by saying he has had multiple opportunities to watch Howell during the season because Washington and Los Angeles have faced a number of opponents in common.

“You think to yourself, ‘Man, this guy’s making a lot of plays,'” McVay remarked. He’s accomplishing a great deal of truly amazing things both on and off schedule. You can see why the members of that organization and the players themselves think so highly of him. Additionally, he has a ton of excellent stuff on tape, and he is undoubtedly dangerous.

Given the way Washington’s offense has performed this year, Howell leads the league in both passing attempts and completions. He’s thrown 3,466 yards and 18 touchdowns on 65.8% of his passes. In addition, he leads the league in interceptions (14) and sacks taken (58).

The Rams, who are still vying for an NFC Wild Card berth, must ensure that Howell doesn’t cause too much harm on Sunday.

Maxx Crosby, a defensive end, won’t listen to any advice to shut things down for the remainder of the season, even though the Raiders’ realistic hopes of making the playoffs have been dashed going into their game against the Chargers on Thursday at 5-8.

For a few weeks, Crosby has been playing through a knee injury; at one point, he was among the first players to play this season despite the injury being listed as doubtful. When asked on Wednesday how he stays motivated despite the team’s record, Crosby mentioned that he intends to play in every game for the remainder of the season, among other things.

There’s a lot of nonsense out there that talks about shutting people down for this or that reason. But that’s a bunch of bullshit,” Crosby stated, according to NFL Media’s Andrew Sicilinao. “We play and train year-round to play 17 guaranteed, so that’s what we intend to do,” the player said. It’s one at a time because we need to close out the season strong.

“Quick turnaround with the Chargers, so we’re definitely looking forward to getting out there again.”

With 13.5 sacks this season, Crosby has set a new career high. He has never missed a game since the Raiders selected him in the fourth round of the 2019 draft. In addition, he leads the league in quarterback hits with 22 and tackles for loss with 18.

Crosby is expected to play on Thursday night against the Chargers despite his questionable status.
