College Football Playoff: Alabama left to wonder 'did that really happen?'

Robinson’s Injury Updated by Nick Saban Prentice Robinson did not play; Prentice left the game in the fourth quarter.

Playing late-season games against teams like Chattanooga raises a lot of concerns, but Alabama nearly managed to play the entire game without suffering an injury.

Linebacker Quandarrius Robinson went down with an injury with less than 12 minutes remaining in the game, and he went straight to the injury tent. He moved there on his own initiative, appearing to favor his right arm. He stayed away from the game.

“Que [Robinson] is alright, he just got into a little fight,” stated Nick Saban, head coach of Alabama.

Furthermore, throughout the entire game, Alabama’s third-best pass catcher, wide receiver Kobe Prentice, did not make an appearance.

“Kobe Prentice strained his hamstring in practice this week, and probably could have played in the game,” Saban stated. “You always risk re-injury in those things, so hopefully in the next few days he gets his strength back up to where that’s not a risk.”

In addition, Alabama was without two defensive line starters—Jaylen Key and Deontae Lawson—who have both missed games in a row.

This week, the Crimson Tide hopes to have its injured players fully recovered in time for a crucial final two games of the season against Auburn and Georgia.

At Bryant-Denny Stadium on Senior Day, No. 8 Alabama easily defeated Chattanooga, winning 66–10 over the Mocs.

Jermaine Burton, a wide receiver, had a fantastic day after sitting out the Kentucky game the previous week. He caught three passes for 103 yards and a touchdown.

Quarterback Jalen Milroe connected with Burton, putting up a remarkable performance of his own: he completed 13 of 16 passes for 197 yards and three touchdowns.

Crimson Tide linebacker Chris Braswell was ejected early in the first half for helmet-to-helmet hitting Chattanooga quarterback Luke Schomberg.

The hit occurred in the first half, so Braswell, a senior, won’t miss any time against Auburn the following week.

Despite being recovered by Alabama, Kool-Aid McKinstry mishandled the punt in the first quarter, forcing a change of guard at the position. Caleb Downs, a freshman safety, replaced McKinstry.

Downs immediately made an impact in the third quarter, cutting and spinning his way to a brilliant 85-yard touchdown. It was the season’s first touchdown on special teams for the Crimson Tide.

Speaking of Downs, Alabama head coach Nick Saban stated, “Yeah, we’ve got confidence in him.” “We have faith in IB, and I have faith in Kool-aid, but he ought to have returned the first ball, which he fair caught, and shouldn’t have even fielded the second one, which he mishandled. We need to restore his confidence because, as you can imagine, it can be crucial when you’re in that situation. Caleb has self-assurance. did an excellent job of fitting and finishing on his blocks, and he only needed to beat the punter, which he did, on the middle return that we ran today. He made someone miss and hit it up the chute.”

Quarterback Ty Simpson replaced Milroe in the third quarter. Simpson completed 4-of-6 passes for 50 yards passing and one touchdown on the day while scrambling for a 78-yard rush.

Before boarding the aircraft, Simpson, who was originally expected to score a touchdown pass of 79 yards, celebrated by dropping the ball at the half-yard line. The Alabama faithful were greatly disappointed when the call was reversed.
