For Heat, no championship made season feel like 'a waste' | Marca

Against the Miami Heat, Alex Caruso sustains yet another injury during the match.
After suffering yet another setback during the game against the Heat, Caruso’s injury problems persist.

After missing just two games due to a sprained left ankle, Alex Caruso now looks likely to be out for an extended period of time after teammate Nikola Vucevic stepped on his left foot during a rebound scramble.

Early on, Caruso displayed great energy, making two three-pointers as the Bulls jumped out to a 16-5 lead. But with 7:05 remaining in the first, Vooch inadvertently stepped on his previously injured ankle, bringing an early end to his evening. Caruso hobbled off the field, made his way straight to the changing area, and never came back.

Bulls coach Billy Donovan verified following the game that Caruso had re-injured the same ankle.

How much time Caruso will now miss is still unknown. However, the Bulls have a dismal record when Caruso isn’t playing; in four attempts, the team has failed to win a single game.

Caruso’s effect on the group
The player put in charge of taking Caruso’s place, Ayo Dosunmu, had a great game himself, scoring 24 points. Afterward, his thoughts turned to the former Texas A&M star rather than the performance he had just finished.

Dosunmu remarked, “It was unfortunate losing A.C. because you just feel bad for him and the work he’s put in to get back.”

“I was truly quite depressed. It was unfortunate to see him have to leave after checking in at the beginning, hitting two threes, and appearing to be in good spirits. But all I can do is try to be alert. Remain prepared and work to develop.
