Despite a scary fall against the Knicks, Bradley Beal, a star player for the Suns, is expected to miss “a few weeks” due to an ankle injury that is not as serious as initially thought.
According to reports, Bradley Beal, the guard for the Phoenix Suns, will only be sidelined for “a few weeks” due to a right ankle injury he sustained during Friday’s 139-122 loss to the New York Knicks.
During a graphic moment on Friday night, Beal appeared to roll his ankle after landing awkwardly on Knicks small forward Donte DiVincenzo’s foot while going up for a three-point shot.
The 30-year-old grabbed at his ankle right away, and while trainers attended to him, he lay on the ground for several minutes in pain. Finally, he got up and made his free throw, then left for the locker room.
Beal was initially reported to be out indefinitely, but an MRI revealed that there was no significant damage to his sprained ankle. Furthermore, Shams Charania of The Athletic is now claiming that his absence will only last a few weeks.
Before sustaining his most recent injury, Beal had only played five minutes but had already scored six points and provided an assist.
Following x-rays, Suns head coach Frank Vogel verified that he had sprained his right ankle following the game.
The three-time All-Star, Bradley Beal, has only played in six games this year. This was his third appearance since missing time due to a back injury that has bothered him during the season’s early going.
