NRL suspension looms for New Zealand Warriors forward.
After the NRL’s Integrity Unit reviewed the criminal proceedings, Josh Curran was given a breach notice.
The backrower for the New Zealand Warriors entered a guilty plea last week, sparing him from conviction for assaulting an adolescent during an incident in a nightclub.
The NRL issued a breach notice to Josh Curran.
Curran has already served one game of his two-match suspension according to the breach notice.
The 24-year-old was taken out of the Warriors’ lineup for their Friday night loss to South Sydney after traveling to Australia to handle his legal affairs.
His punishment, which also includes a $10,000 fine and participation in an education and training program as recommended by the NRL, will include the Rabbitohs game.
Curran is not available for Andrew Webster’s team’s Round 19 match against Parramatta, which is scheduled for Sydney. Curran is free to play for the Warriors in their Round 20 match against the Sharks.
It is communicated to Curran that he has five business days to reply to the breach notice.
