NY Giants Sign Mason Crosby to Practice Squad, Cade York Placed on Practice  Squad-Injured Reserve - BVM Sports

Mason Crosby, an experienced kicker, joins the Giants to practice after suffering a slew of injuries at the position.

Along with Giants kickers Graham Gano (knee) and Randy Bullock (hamstring), he was placed on injured reserve and was set to make a field goal against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday.

NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo reported After a string of injuries, the Giants have added kicker Mason Crosby to their practice squad.

After being cut by the Los Angeles Rams on December 12, veteran kicker Mason Crosby was signed by the Giants. Crosby will kick for the Giants on Monday in their Christmas Day game against the Eagles, according to the Garafolo reports.

The 39-year-old, an NFL veteran of 17 years, will start Monday’s first contest of the new campaign against the Eagles. Throughout his 17 seasons, he has made 395 field goals, yielding an 81.4 percent lifetime success rate.

Mason Crosby continues to 'plug away' with more milestones approaching

This season, the Giants have encountered the kicker situation. When they lost seasoned player Graham Gano to a knee injury back in November, Bullock took his place, but he later had a hamstring problem.

After being selected by the Packers in the sixth round of the 2007 draft, Crosby has led Green Bay’s special teams for 16 consecutive seasons. Between 2007 and 22, he was a member of the Packers’ playing staff, setting the team record for points with 1,918.

According to insiders, the Gaints added Crosby to their practice squad on Friday in an attempt to prepare the 39-year-old for their Christmas matchup against the NFC East.

He will be qualified for three separate single-game promotions to the active roster for the remainder of 2023 while he is on the practice squad.
