WARRIORS FORMER STAR PLAYER HAS RETURNED AGAIN FOR.

Jordan Poole scores 25 in return to Chase Center, it's not enough to beat Stephen Curry, Warriors - NBC Sports

Warriors Jordan Poole, the shooting guard for the Wizards, hugged a few of his former colleagues on Friday before the Washington Wizards defeated them 129-118.

During pregame warm-ups, he was spotted embracing and conversing with Warriors guards Gary Payton II, Stephen Curry, and other players.

After being selected by the Warriors with the No. 28 overall choice in the 2019 NBA Draft, Poole played for them for the first four years of his NBA career. This offseason, however, he was dealt to the Wizards as part of the transaction that brought Chris Paul to Golden State.

Poole’s averages in his first season in Washington are 17.2 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.0 rebounds, which is just less than his average of 20.4 points per game in his final season in Golden State.

In an attempt to put on a show for his former supporters, the 24-year-old, who won an NBA Championship with the Warriors in 2022, was able to surpass this year’s average and scored 25 points in the defeat.

Poole received a standing ovation from the San Francisco crowd in addition to a pregame film tribute.

The game began with him making an 18-foot shot from the left wing, after which he was jeered each time he approached the free-throw line.
The Wizards have not had much luck in the early going of the season, and Friday’s setback dropped their record to an embarrassing 5-23. This is despite Poole’s acquisition to the squad.

Right now, only two teams have a worse record than the Wizards: the San Antonio Spurs (4-23) and the Detroit Pistons (2-26).

Conversely, Golden State’s record improved to 14-14 after the victory, allowing them to go to.500 for the season.

Curry put on yet another impressive performance to lead the Warriors, finishing with 30 points, seven assists, and four rebounds.

At the end of the game, Klay Thompson and Jonathan Kuminga scored 20 and 22 points, respectively.
