It is currently unknown when Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green will return from an indefinite suspension, but it is widely anticipated that he will miss at least 11 games.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, there is a “general belief” that Green will miss 11–13 games due to his suspension. If Green doesn’t meet the NBA’s requirements to return, the suspension might be prolonged.

On December 13, following his hit on Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic’s face during a game the day before, Green was given an indefinite suspension by the league. Green has been suspended for his on-court behavior twice this season.

When Green choked Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert during an on-court altercation between the two teams, he was previously suspended for three games. Green’s repeated acts of violence on the court were cited by the NBA as justification for the indefinite suspension.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters, “The one who choked Rudy [Gobert], the one who took a wild flail at Jusuf, the one who punched Jordan [Poole] last year—that’s the guy who needs to change.” “This is more than just a tantrum on the court. It concerns his life. It’s about someone I love for his loyalty, someone I’ve known for decades, and someone I believe in.”

As he works toward reinstatement, Green has apparently been going to individual counseling sessions in addition to Zoom meetings with league, team, and union representatives. While on suspension, he is permitted to train and practice with the Warriors, but he hasn’t been doing so. Green is currently anticipated to make a comeback sometime in early January.

While Green has been serving his suspension, Golden State has won five of its first six games. With Green out, Kerr has had success switching up his starting lineup, starting rookie Brandin Podziemski instead of Andrew Wiggins on the bench.
