WHY NOW; STEELERS HAS GIVEN AN INDEFINITELY SUSPENSION TO.
Damontae Kazee, a safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers, had his suspension upheld on Wednesday.
The NFL and the NFL Players Association jointly appointed hearing officer James Thrash, who upheld Kazee’s suspension for the remainder of the regular season, the league said in a post on X, the former name of Twitter.
Thrash did declare that, should the team advance to the playoffs, Kazee is qualified to rejoin the active roster.
Kazee was suspended without pay for the rest of the regular season earlier this week due to a rule violation pertaining to player safety. It followed Kazee’s rough tackle of Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. on December 16 during their game.
Following his hit on Pittman in the second quarter, Kazee was flagged and taken out of the game. Pittman sustained a concussion during the play.
Kazee has been fined five times in the 2023 season, so this week wasn’t the first time he’s faced discipline.
