Following an incident at a nightclub, a Vikings offensive lineman was taken into custody in Miami, according to reports.

According to Andy Slater of FOX Sports 640 South Florida, backup tackleJustin Jefferson 

was taken into custody on Saturday following a disturbance at a nightclub in Miami. According to Slater, Justin Jefferson followed a woman into a restroom and wouldn’t go.

According to Miami-Dade County court documents, Justin Jefferson is accused of resisting an officer without using physical force, as confirmed by FOX 9. Although FOX 9 has asked for more details regarding the incident, it has not been possible to verify Slater’s account of the arrest in its entirety up to this point.

Justin Jefferson does not appear on the Miami jail roster.

Although they defeated the Dolphins in Miami last weekend, the Vikings are off this week. “We are aware of last night’s arrest of Justin Jefferson and are gathering additional information at this time,” the team stated in a statement.

Justin Jefferson, the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings, was placed under arrest on Friday night for a misdemeanor DWI.

He still plans to go to Las Vegas on Saturday afternoon in preparation for the team’s Sunday game against the Raiders.

“After his arrest last night, Wes informed the team right away,” the Vikings said in a statement. “We spoke with the NFL this morning, and following internal deliberation, we decided that Wes would accompany the team to Las Vegas this afternoon. We’ll keep collecting details about the incident and provide more commentary when it’s appropriate.

Head coach Kevin O’Connell hired Phillips soon after he took the job with the Vikings. Phillips is both the son of and grandson of former NFL coaches, and was the tight ends coach for the Rams before coming to Minnesota. Starting quarterback Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles tendon in October, and the team has struggled to find a rhythm since. Josh Dobbs took the reins last week but went 22/32 for 185 yards against the Bears. However, he’ll get another shot at the position on Sunday.
