CINCINNATI — Bengals joined SportsCenter on Wednesday to discuss their predictions for the Super Bowl. Chase also shared some interesting things to say about the Kansas City Chiefs.
“Anybody but the Chiefs,” was Chase’s direct response.
Higgins made a bold prediction, selecting Baltimore to win the AFC.
“I’m going to stay in the division and support the Ravens,” Higgins declared.
After two deep playoff campaigns and a miss in 2023, the playmakers must be feeling a little strange relaxing this early in January as they wait till this fall to lace up the cleats again.
Chase’s rivalry with the Cincinnati Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs dates back to their late-season 2021–2022 encounter. Since Chase joined the team, the Bengals have a 3-2 record versus the Chiefs.
There have been two AFC Championship matchups between the two teams. They all prevailed in one of their meetings, but the Chiefs’ victory in Super Bowl LVII over the Philadelphia Eagles came more recently. The Bengals’ season was ended by the Chiefs in their most recent triumph, which came after the Chiefs had won the previous two meetings. Cincinnati was eliminated from playoff contention mathematically by the Chiefs’ 25-17 victory over the Bengals at home. Chase only gained 41 yards on three receptions, but Joe Burrow, the starting quarterback, wasn’t present.
One of the best games of Chase’s career was his opening contest versus the Chiefs. In his debut season, he caught 11 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns. One of the most well-known plays in Bengals history was part of it.Although he only had 54 yards receiving in the AFC Championship game that year, Chase’s one touchdown helped the Bengals defeat the Chiefs and get to the Super Bowl.
